Over 1,800 Holiday Harvest Boxes Will Feed Families this Holiday Season

The Food Bank of Siouxland has distributed over 1,800 Holiday Harvest Boxes to agencies for neighbors in need throughout the community.

The goal of this program is to relieve budgets throughout the holidays by providing traditional side dishes found at holiday meals. With items like: green beans, stuffing, instant mashed potatoes and more, agencies throughout Siouxland will have the opportunity to distribute these boxes to neighbors in need.

Volunteers from Wells Enterprises and Central Bank came to box up the product including: green beans, cream of mushroom soup, instant mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, and gravy.

Fareway graciously donated the corn for the boxes and the local Hy-Vee stores held food drives throughout September, October, and November collecting Holiday Harvest items. Wells Enterprises also made a sizable donation to the program while also participating in the Rumble on the Range where “Sioux”-lebrities competed to see who could raise the most Holiday Harvest items.

The Food Bank of Siouxland is incredibly grateful to Wells Enterprises, Fareway, Hy-Vee, the Rumble on the Range Sioux-lebrities and anyone who donated to this program for their support.
