The Zestos Food Share event is hosted monthly by the Mayflower Congregational UCC on the third Saturday of every month. While they cater primarily to the residents of Woodbury County, anyone in need of help is welcome.
Ten years ago Mayflower Congregational began by serving breakfast to community
members with “Project Good Neighbor.” Because of their partnership with Zestos and the Food Bank of Siouxland, they have consistently served Woodbury County residents for many years. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, they saw the need in their community grow exponentially, expanding their operations and adapting to keep their clients safe. They have adopted a drive-up/curbside approach and no longer have a breakfast program.
“There is a high rate of food insecurity in our community. We see a lot of it in our church neighborhood. We are grateful to be able to alleviate a little stress for our guests each month.”
The Zestos Food Share program is always looking for volunteers to continue to help the people of their community and alleviate the stress of getting food on the table for their families and themselves. The Food Bank of Siouxland is proud to work with dedicated and hardworking individuals to help in Siouxland’s fight against hunger.
