The Morningside Lutheran Church pantry is run weekly by a group of volunteers on Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - noon. The pantry has served those from Woodbury, Plymouth, Dakota, Thurston, and Union counties.
The pantry started 12 years ago as an in-person operation. Those looking for food could come at the designated times and collect the food they needed with assistance from the volunteers. Due to Covid-19 they were forced to move to a drive through system and still use this system today.
Over time they have moved from serving around 50 families a week to assisting 135 families a week. The Morningside Lutheran pantry is open to anyone in need of assistance with no requirements involved.
The volunteers and staff at the Morningside Lutheran work hard to help serve the Siouxland community. We are proud to work with such dedicated and caring individuals. Thank you Morningside Lutheran for helping us in the fight against hunger.
