The Haven House Family Service Center is a dedicated shelter and support center for
victims of violence in the Cedar, Dixon, Thurston, Dakota, and Wayne counties. They provide
services like shelter, advocacy, legal support, and protection for those that are suffering. Those In need can contact them between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, shelter is provided 24/7 for those in an emergency situation. The food pantry located at Haven House is not open to the public as it is a service they provide to the people they work to serve.
Haven House was founded in 1978 In Wayne, Nebraska. After some time serving that
community, the organization began to grow and expand. Since then their staff has grown
considerably and they have added satellite offices in South Sioux City and Harrington Nebraska. Haven House has a 24/7 hotline at 1-800-440-4633 for those in crisis.
While Haven House does not have a pantry open to the public, they partner with the
Food Bank of Siouxland to provide meals for those under their care and ensure they have food or their clients to take home if necessary. The Food Bank of Siouxland is proud to support an organization dedicated to such an important cause and from the Haven House to the community of Siouxland “Thank you to all that support us and especially our survivors.”
