Community Action Agency of Siouxland has served the residents of Woodbury County since 1971. It runs as a full time food pantry, open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for those Woodbury residents in need of food. They work to provide canned goods, dried goods, frozen meat, fresh produce, and much more to those they serve.
After his time as chairman of the board it was decided that the pantry would be dedicated to George Williams, because of his fierce advocacy in eliminating hunger in Siouxland. Over the years the program has grown substantially. They originally operated through the WIC program, they now partner with the Food Bank of Siouxland and Up from the Earth to assist those in need. They have been able to expand their program from strictly food assistance to household and personal hygiene products.
The employees at the Community Action Agency are dedicated to assisting in the fight against hunger. We are proud to work with such a dedicated group of individuals in the community.
